Predictability of Root Coverage Procedures: Clinical Scenarios and Evidence-Based Treatment Options.
Root coverage (RC) procedures have long been used for the treatment of gingival recession (GR). During daily practice, clinicians are required to deal with diverse clinical scenarios and to provide the most adequate treatment options for each particular condition based on the best evidence available, the clinician’s skills, and the patients’ desires.

Learning Objectives

Dr. Leandro Chambrone (DDS, MSc, PhD) has been engaged in private practice and under/post graduation since 2000. During this period he gained experience in clinical research and evidence-based dentistry and successfully completed his training in Periodontics (Specialization, Masters, Doctorate, and Post-Doctoral Fellowship) and Orthodontics (Specialization). He is the author/co-author of more than 90 scientific publications (articles, book chapters and text books) published or accepted for publication in leading dental journals and book companies. Dr. Chambrone has acted as a reviewer of trials and studies for eight of the top-ranked dental and medical journals owing to his expertise in clinical research and data pooling and interpretation. In addition, he is a speaker recomended by the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), member of the editorial board of EAO’s journal (Clinical Oral Implants Research), and the author of the guidelines on soft tissue root coverage (periodontal plastic surgery) developed during 2014 AAP Workshop on Periodontal Tissue Regeneration.
