Curriculum Vitae

Dr. De Franco first received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980, then obtained a Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut in 1984. He then received a postdoctoral specialty in Orthodontics from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Forsyth Dental Center and a Doctorate of Medical Sciences degree in Oral Biology from Harvard University in 1988. In 1998 he received the Italian specialty in Orthodontics from the University of Milan. He became a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 1999, European Board of Orthodontics in 2001 and Italian Board of Orthodontics in 2003. He is presently the Chairman of Examiners for the EBO.. He is a member of AAO, EOS, Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics and is an active member of SIDO, Italian Academy of Orthodontics, EAED, and the Angle Society Eastern Component of which he is President-Elect. He is Past Editor for the Angle Society and of the Journals Ortognatodonzia Italiana and Progress in Orthodontics of SIDO. Dr. De Franco has published in numerous journals, is an international lecturer in the field of orthodontics, and has a practice limited to orthodontics in Milan, Italy.
